Celebrating chemistry, innovation and five years of BlueChem

On Sunday, 5 October, BlueChem opened its doors to the public for a very special edition of Open Bedrijvendag. More than 600 visitors joined us to celebrate our fifth anniversary and to discover how chemistry is shaping a sustainable future.

Together with our start-ups Aquature, Bloom Biotech, Calidris Bio, Carboganic, Creaflow, D-CRBN and Triple Helix, and our corporate and innovation partners Air Liquide, BASF, Eastman, Nippon Gases and Catalisti, we provided a behind-the-scenes look into the innovation ecosystem shaping the future of sustainable chemistry.

Visitors discovered how our companies are developing breakthrough technologies, from carbon capture and green processes to renewable raw materials and circular solutions. It was a day full of inspiration, discovery and future-oriented ideas.

There was plenty of excitement for younger visitors too, with face painting, a balloon clown and a kid's lab by BASF that turned science into fun.
