Our campuses

BlueChem supports sustainable chemistry innovators at every stage of their growth journey. Through our two complementary campuses in Antwerp, BlueChem BASE and BlueChem PORT, researchers, start-ups and scale-ups gain access to the infrastructure, expertise and industrial connections they need to turn innovative technologies into successful businesses. 


Both campuses are strategically located within Europe’s largest integrated chemical cluster, creating a direct pathway from laboratory development to industrial implementation.
 

BlueChem BASE

Home for early-stage chemistry start-ups and new ideas

Located at Blue Gate Antwerp, BlueChem BASE is designed for researchers, spin-offs and start-ups developing innovations in sustainable chemistry. The campus offers plug-and-play infrastructure as well as an ecosystem: ready-to-use and customisable labs, … but also access to an active network.

Here, entrepreneurs can develop their technology, strengthen their business case and connect with research institutions, investors and leading chemical companies. BlueChem BASE provides the environment in which early-stage ideas can grow into market-ready solutions.

Best suited for: researchers, university spin-offs and start-ups moving from concept and proof of concept towards market validation.

Home for industrial scale-up

Located in the NextGen District at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, BlueChem PORT brings sustainable chemistry companies closer to industrial-scale testing, demonstration and production.

The campus is designed for ambitious start-ups and scale-ups that have validated their technology and are preparing for their next phase of growth. Its strategic position in the heart of the Antwerp chemical cluster gives companies direct access to industrial partners, infrastructure, value chains and future production opportunities.


Best suited for: Start-ups moving towards market validation, business growth and industrial leadership. Once the valorisation pathway is clear, but the next step in maturity (market and/or technology) needs to be taken, this is thé place to go.

The difference between BASE and PORT

BlueChem BASE and BlueChem PORT support different stages of the same growth journey. At each critical transition, BlueChem helps companies bridge the gap to their next stage of development.
